Hempfest is a political protest rally seeking to change America's pot laws and to educate the public on the many uses of the cannabis plant. Hempfest is a protestival.
Seattle Hempfest advocates the decriminalization of marijuana for responsible adults, legal access to medical marijuana for patients who could be benefited by cannabis, and legal domestic hemp production.
By producing a king size world class event, Hempfest is demonstrating that cannabis enthusiasts can be as responsible, professional, and successful as anyone else.
Seattle Hempfest
Hempfest features extensive educational and informational content presented by some of the nation's leading experts in the field of marijuana policy reform.
The Hempfest's goal is to contribute to the healthy, informed and energized local and national movement to change America's pot laws.
Seattle Hempfest started out as a humble little gathering of stoners and has grown into one of the most sophisticated cannabis policy reform events in the world. Originally billed in 1991 as the "Washington Hemp Expo", the first Hempfest started in Volunteer Park where it would stay for three years.
This Hempfest bring together each year thousands and even tens of thousands of Americans and not only.
They come to listen to the traditional speeches of the Festival, held by movement luminaries such as Rob Kampia from the Marijuana Policy Project, Jack Cole of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, Stephen Gaskin from the Farm Commune and medical patient Angel Raich came to address Hempfest's massive crowd.
Around the time of the Hempfest Seattle's roads are a snarled traffic cluster for miles long. For the past ten years it has been a great place for cannabis activists to gather and make a statement.
