Plants requiring the full flowering time will grow a little taller and are usually the heaviest-yielding examples. Big Bud's stems are thick and sturdy, yet the masses of giant, sweet, sparkling buds they produce can grow heavy enough to bend and even snap them, so the most promising branches should be supported with string or tensioned wire.

This cannabis strain has won prizes at the cannabis cups year after year. It started in 1989 when it got the Mostly Indica Cup at the High Times Cannabis Cup, continuing in 2002 with the Hydro Cup at the Highlife Cup, and in 2004 with the Bio Cup again at Highlife.
